Preamble
Oriental Institute Of Management Lalburra is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, dignified, and fear-free academic environment for all students. In strict compliance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, the Institute has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate all forms of ragging on campus.
Ragging includes any act—whether verbal, physical, psychological, or written—that causes mental or physical harassment, humiliation, intimidation, or fear among students, particularly freshers.
Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell
To ensure zero tolerance towards ragging in any form.
To create a secure, disciplined, and learner-centric campus environment.
To promote mutual respect, harmony, and ethical conduct among students.
To spread awareness regarding anti-ragging laws, rules, and consequences.
To provide a confidential and responsive grievance redressal mechanism.
Functions of the Cell
Conduct awareness Programmes, orientations, and sensitization sessions.
Monitor academic and residential spaces to prevent ragging incidents.
Receive complaints and ensure prompt, impartial, and confidential inquiry.
Recommend disciplinary action in accordance with UGC and institutional norms.
Coordinate with administration, faculty, and parents for effective prevention.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
Students may report incidents of ragging:
Directly to the Anti-Ragging Cell members
Through written or verbal complaints
Confidential complaints will be handled with utmost sensitivity and urgency.
